Birth and History
RIM GAZ is a public limited company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SKI.sa, operating in the import, distribution, marketing, enfutage and storage of butane gas. RIM GAZ was created out of the 2009 acquisition of the butane business of TOTAL GAZ Mauritania. The storage capacity at the time was 200 MT, with around ten employees and a market share not exceeding 3%. It is approved by the Ministry of Petroleum, Energy and Mines according to decrees N ° 3798,3800, 3799 / MPE of 12/31/2009 and N ° 1639 / MPEM of 07/26/2012 for import, distribution, marketing, smoking and storage of butane gas.

Ambitious future projects thanks to the backing of a solid group
By relying on its backing to a solid private group such as SKI, particularly in terms of strategic and financial support but also logistics via synergies with the group’s subsidiaries, RIM GAZ launched in 2019 an ISO certification project and continues strengthening the achievements and development of its network of distribution centers in the country and also to reach neighboring countries with which Mauritania has signed an agreement allowing the distribution of butane gas between the two countries.
An innovative development strategy and exceptional results
Today, RIM GAZ has become a major player in the Butane gas sector in Mauritania, which has the first disruption network in the country, with a storage capacity of 2,340 MT (10 times more than the initial capacity). It employs more than 80 people and has a market share of more than 25%. The exceptional development of RIM GAZ to become a leader in distribution across the country was the result of an innovative commercial strategy with the installation and strengthening of filling centers with their own storage units and their barrel-filling facilities.
